February @ Netgen

February 2017

February was quite an exciting month. The most important news was a release of Web Summer Camp Super Early Bird tickets, but there was a lot more going on – read on!

Summer Camp

This year’s #websc Super Early Bird tickets are really super early – you can get them for a discount price until the end of March. Contact us for a discount if you are a 3+ group and check out our Companions and Extras plans for 2017.

In the meantime, read more about all the ticket includes and all the news regarding the tracks, extras, speakers, and sponsors in Maja’s blog post.

We are very happy to say we defined the tracks and confirmed a brand-new one!

Sites launched

In cooperation with our Norwegian partners at Keyteq, a new website was launched – www.melk.no. Melk helps promote the Norwegian milk and dairy products on behalf of dairy farmers. Keyteq was a project lead and provided the design, while Netgen did the frontend and backend implementation of the website.

Last month we also introduced an important enhancement to the Puls Berufe website together with our partner Prime. This new module is a custom-made application which serves as a tool for interns and students to find an internship in hospitals and the like institutions.

Last month, our Mario B. worked on Information Collection bundle for eZ Publish / eZ platform and tagged the version 1.0 – blog post is in the making.

We are happy to welcome Zvonimir as our new backend developer! He’s been part of our crew for almost two months now and here are his thoughts on the transition to Netgen.

Zvonimir: After working in a financial sector for a bank for more than 10 years, I felt that change was long overdue. While looking for my next appointment, Netgen popped up on my radar – my friend was already working there and they were hiring. He could not say enough good things about the firm and I decided to meet the soon-to-be-employers and the rest of the crew. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the honest and friendly approach, so I made a decision to accept the job offer. My main concern was, and to some degree still is, the adaptation to the new working environment. I spent so much time in a different world which is, one might say, on the other end of the spectrum. My concerns are at ease currently, because the atmosphere here at Netgen is more than welcoming. Any problem that I have is quickly dealt with by the very competent and enthusiastic colleagues who are making sure that my transition goes as smoothly as possible. I learn something new every day, which is a great thing. Great colleagues and pleasant working environment make me look forward to my future in Netgen.

Meet Zvonimir and the rest of our team!

Next to all the work, we didn’t forget to have fun – we played with some great presents from a client and had many donuts, lots of chocolate – and fondue. :)

Cheat day – again!
