November & December @ Netgen

We’ve come to an end of another successful and fulfilled year. This is what we’ve been up to in these winter months.

Netgen Layouts & Netgen Admin UI

We released Netgen Layouts 0.10. The new version headlines AJAX blocks, layout export and import, themes, and other useful features. Find out more in Ivo’s blog post and the accompanying webinar.

Some of our partners have already started working with Layouts – you can also join this story, even before the 1.0 version.

Ivo also wrote about using Netgen Admin UI with the eZ Legacy Bridge as a viable path to upgrading the site to the newest eZ version. Check it out, your feedback is valuable to us.

Summer Camp

In November, we started releasing Web Summer Camp 2017 workshop videos. All PHP, eZ, and JS workshops are already available for watching while UX workshops have slides, exercises, and photos attached.

Conferences & Meetups

It was an exciting month for conferencing. Ivo went to PHP Central Europe Conference in Poland where he held a tutorial “Demonstrating advanced layouts and block management in Symfony based web solutions” and a talk “What we learned by merging two big Symfony based applications” on Sunday.

He continued to Aarhus, Denmark, for J. Boye 17 Conference, a unique conference for learning, networking, and sharing knowledge.

Ivo and Mario B. went to the longest awaited conference, SymfonyCon, this year held in Cluj, Romania, where Ivo held a lecture on our experience with merging two big Symfony-based applications. Find all details on their trip in Mario’s recap.

Community

After months of hard work with our partners at Effectiva, we released Netgen Remote Media Bundle for image, video, and file management on the cloud, using Cloudinary, seamlessly integrated with eZ Platform. Read more about why use Netgen Remote Media in Ivan’s blog post. We are looking forward to your feedback.

We also continued working on Information Collection Bundle, and Query Translator.

Ivo and Petar, our main guy behind Netgen's Site API, held an introduction webinar and Petar released v2.3 with important new features.

Sites launched

In cooperation with our Swiss partners at Prime, two websites were released: http://www.promipool.de/ and https://www.rdm.com/.

Promipool is a site for the latest news and background stories from show business. Prime handled the design and we assisted with the implementation. It was built on Netgen Layouts and uses Netgen Remote Media.

R&M (Reichle & De-Massari AG) develops and produces cabling solutions for high-end communication networks. The design of the website was done by Prime and implemented by us. As well as Promipool, it was built on Netgen Layouts. Another thing that makes it interesting is the fact that it is a multilanguage site for over 40 different countries.

Crew

As it is a custom, this time of year especially, we all gathered together for Netgen Winter Meetup and internal workshops – and had fun.

Extras

And we enjoyed both November sunshine and December holidays.

Enjoying the November spring ☀️🍃
