October @ Netgen
The biggest October news is that we are one year older (and wiser!) now. 14 sounds like a good number, doesn’t it?
Netgen turned 14 this October! Hopefully we will skip over the awkward puberty stage. :)
We celebrated this occasion by spending the whole day together at a cute restaurant and excursion spot by the windmill. The cake was great!
Web Summer Camp 2016 ended only two months ago and we already have a lot going on for 2017!
Conferences & Meetups
At the beginning of the month, Ivo, Vjeran, and Igor went to the wonderful city of Paris for another annual eZ Conference. Just like last year, we enjoyed the lectures and especially talking to the eZ community.
Ivo, Vjeran, and Igor, joined by Maja, continued to Vienna for World Publishing Expo, the annual exhibition for the news publishing industry, to network and present our products and solutions, including Netgen Layouts. It was great meeting new people and talking to them about media, publishing, and CMSes.
Like every year so far, we sponsored WebCamp Zagreb and attended in big numbers. We feel the quality of the talks has risen once again and we enjoyed the conference!
We launched the new website for World Business Council for Sustainable Development - http://www.wbcsd.org. WBCSD is a global, CEO-led organization of over 200 leading businesses and partners working together to accelerate the transition to a sustainable world.
The design was produced together with WBCSD. The most significant thing about the WBCSD site is that it is the first site we implemented on Netgen Layouts.
At the end of the month, we launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign for finishing and open sourcing Netgen Tags Bundle support for eZ Platform UI. The deadline for the campaign is Friday, November 10th.
For any amount you decide to donate, besides the perks for big donors, you get our (and the community's) eternal gratitude. :) If you’re interested in why we initiated the campaign, read Ivo’s blog post!
Last month was also interesting because we realized another company’s stolen our logo! Here’s what we did about it after we had found out.
We are preparing for the winter with our brand new coffee machine and plenty of homegrown fruit. :)
That’s all for October!
